On the serious side: With the economic situation what it is, we all now know folks that are having tough times - and some that may even be in the verge of foreclosure... If you know someone that is in this type trouble, please - POR FAVOR - let them know there is help: Call 1-888-995-HOPE... Because "there is nothing worst than doing nothing".  [To see the PSA (Public Service Announcements) video promoting this - en espanol - click HERE.]  And, yes, this is the organization Reemberto works for (NeighborWorks America)... More info on foreclosure HERE

PICTURE OF THE MONTH:

NEW & UPDATED LINKS TO FAMILY PICS AND/OR KOOL CUBA STUFF:

CUBAN RESTAURANTS ACROSS THE U.S.A.

I believe there's a list somewhere, but I've not been able to locate it... (Cuban Food Market's link to a map does not work.)... Anyway:  Got the chance to go to CUBANITAS in downtown Milwaukee (yes, Wisconsin!) and was thrilled to find that "estamos por todo el mundo"!... EXCELLENT cuban food - and magnificent ambiance - PLUS $5 mojitos --- You can't go wrong... See their web site HERE

CHUCHITO VALDEZ & AFRO-CUBAN BAND IN DC

Also got the chance - thanks to Rembe Jr.'s 'find' - to go see CHUCHITO VALDEZ, the Cuban Jazz pianist.  He is the the son of Chucho Valdez, the music director of Tropicana back in the 50's.  ... We saw him at a fascinating venue here in DC, HR57.  This is a 'jazz preservation' non-profit that bring in acts you'd see nowhere else...  A couple of days later we saw Juan de Marcos González and the Afro-Cuban Band at the Strathmore (another quite great venue). Politics aside, amazing stuff!  (Check out Chuchito's video on YouTube; there are hundreds... Here's one HERE   - and for the ACB, see HERE.)
[For our FaceBook friends, we uploaded a couple of clips during the concert.]

FAMILY TRIVIA QUESTIONS:

Q: ¿Quien es este tipo?  ¿Donde està?

PARTING THOUGHT:

In the spirit of Easter (which is just around the corner):

"... we can advance together toward a world more just and mutually supportive, in which the blind egoism of the few will not prevail over the cries of pain of the many, reducing entire peoples to conditions of degrading misery. May the message of life proclaimed by the angel near the stone rolled back from the tomb overturn the hardness of our hearts; may it lead to removing unjustified barriers and promote a fruitful exchange between peoples and cultures..."

John Paul II's Easter message a few years ago... And still relevant today.

Good luck with your baseball predictions!

Daniel Joaquin Dominguez was born March 23, 2009 at 6:24 a.m., weighing 8 lbs 14 oz and measuring 20 inches long. His birth date is particularly special since he now shares it with Mario, Sr.! [Family link for those that may not know: Mario is Geraldina's brother, married to Jessica Corbitt.]
Alejandro & Daniel are "in the house"!

(Two more babies in the familia in one month - wow!)
This - and many other excellent pictures come from one of the gazillion PowerPoints that Juan Abel sends.
NOTE: As of this e-mailer, you may find that some pages in www.reemberto.com are password protected.  The password for the "Key Dates" is the short name for Reemberto.  The password for everything else is the "provincia" Geraldina and Reemberto have in common.
