HEADLINES FOR THE MONTH
***NEWS FLASH!***
ATLANTA OUT OF GAS!!!
Oh, oh... is that Jose Miguel there at the
end of the line?... Or is it Linito?
Well, it may well be both!
Atlanta, that bastion of the great
American suburbs seems to be unable
to figure out how to adjust to the
new world of gas price fluctuation.
[Not to worry familia: I hear that the
Socialist State of Maryland may be sending
you some of our excess gas... Being so
close to DC, we have lots of gas! :-) ]
BASEBALL'S REGULAR SEASON IS NEARLY OVER!
Remember when you made your predictions on our web-site at the beginning of the season? We'll reveal the winner in next month's e-mailer... One thing for sure: NO ONE predicted the Rays would win their Division!... Though some did predict that the Nationals would lose 100 games :-( ... And how about them Braves and Marlins? - Oh well, there's always next year...
AND EVEN MORE BABIES ON THE WAY!
Last month, Roli and Jackie announced they are pregnant... This month? Lino & Suzette!... Double the pleasure for the Atlanta Klan!
A DAY AT THE NATIONAL ZOO
The National Zoo is in Rock Creek Park, which happens to have a wonderful hiking trail. It is very easy to park-and-hike to the free zoo!... We did just that recently and found it impossible not to take a few pictures of the beautiful creatures found at the zoo! See HERE
CARMIN & PACO TO CELEBRATE THEIR 50th
WOW! Incredible! What a lovely story of the perfect couple; one that never fights; is so always sweet and understanding; and always are quiet; and never like to play or party... Well, they will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary early November!
CARMEN YOLI HITS THE BIG TIMES!
She has an article at the Orlando Sentinel HERE
AND, ALMA FLOR GETS HER DUE!

...IN OTHER NEWS (FAMILY & OTHERWISE):
What a sad month, in so many ways... It was truly painful to see Cuba hit over and over with the hurricanes... Obviously, for those living in the 'country of Miami' all of this is 24/7; but for those of us further away, do know that our prayers are TOTALLY with the folks in the 'islita'.
Beba celebrated her 81st Birthday in Atlanta September 13th...
Is this a happy family or what? :-)

FAMILY TRIVIA QUESTIONS:
A two-fer this month!
Q: Where did Geraldina (la vieja!) go to post-secondary education? For how long? And, where did she stay - and with whom?
Q: How did Lino burn himself? - And what does Alicia Ortega have to do with it?
PARTING THOUGHT:
Jesus was a community organizer; Pilate was a governor.
Community organizers put stock in people, not companies - and that is why communities will never go bankrupt!
