...IN OTHER NEWS (FAMILY & OTHERWISE):
I had the opportunity to visit Chicago a couple of weekends ago... And of course, attended Mass... Well, I opted to get on the train and go down to the Southside of Chicago (79th St. to be exact) and walk 2 miles to St. Sabina Catholic Church... [If the name sounds familiar, this is the Church of the infamous Catholic priest that had a little fun with that lady that ran for Prez recently.]... To call the Church 'Afro-Centric' is an understatement. Yet, what an incredibly beautiful, heartfelt, warm Mass it was! (Frankly, not much different from the Cuban-centric mass at San Juan Bosco in Miami; the Salvadorean-centric mass here in my neighborhood; or the Mexican-centric mass in San Antonio's Guadalupe neigbhorhood.) It truly highlighted the 'universality' of our Church... No, I did not record the sermon (which was tempered and 'on-message'), nor did I take any pictures... But, let it suffice to say that when you walk in the church the first thing you see is this overwhelming picture of Jesus coming at you with his hands stretching out. And right in front of Him? - A neon sign that says JESUS! And then, the music! WOW! A jazz band that played for 15 minutes at the start of Mass before the priest ever got to the greeting... And yep, the altar servers, deacon, and priests all literally 'danced and clapped' coming down the aisle ... To get but a taste, check out their web-site HERE [and note you too can join in! - They web-cast their 11:30 mass... just know it lasts 2 1/2 hours!]

FAMILY TRIVIA QUESTIONS:
We now know the dangers of smoking... And thus we insist to all our young people: DON'T SMOKE!... However, once upon a time, many of us would boast about the many ways we could smoke - in the bathroom; in bed; while running; etc... But, very few of us could smoke by holding the cigarette with our toes... WHO in the familia would do this feat and show it off to (hint) her children and friends? [see link at top of this site for the link to the Trivia Page with the answer!]
PARTING THOUGHT:
Please get informed and ready to vote... Too many great people here in the USofA have fought for our right to vote; too many people throughout the world do not have this right; too many people just don't care... If not us, then WHO?... Please stay tuned into the evolving discussions, debates, pros and cons, and great conversations to be an informed voter... Whichever way you do choose to vote, please be an informed voter..
