Nicolette & Travis get married April 12th at the ATL!... Hope to see you there... &, in the spirit of celebrating our expanding culture:
It's time to take a reflective look at the core beliefs of a culture that values home, family, country and God.
If I had to stand before a dozen terrorists who threaten my life, I'd choose a half dozen or so rednecks to back me up. Tire irons, squirrel guns and grit -- that's what rednecks are made of.
I hope I am one of those.
You might be a redneck if. . .
* It never occurred to you to be offended by the phrase, "One nation, under God. . "
* You've never protested about seeing the 10 Commandments posted in public places.
* You still say "Christmas" instead of "The Holidays."
* You bow your head when someone prays.
* You stand and place your hand over your heart when they play the National Anthem.
* You treat Viet Nam Vets with great respect, and always have.
* You've never even thought of burning an American flag.
* You know what you believe and you aren't afraid to say so, no matter who is listening.
* You respect your elders and expect your kids to do the same.
* You'd give your last dollar to a friend.
If you got this email from me it is because I believe that you, like me have just enough Red Neck in you to have the same beliefs as those talked about in this email.
May God Bless people of the USA to the degree that they honor Him in their lives and for the rest who half-heartedly follow... His unfailing grace and power to change...
For this and many other "Chistes", visit our Chistes page from the link at the beginning of this e-mailer.
TWO more babies on their way! In Miami, Teresita is pregnant... In San Francisco, Lola is going for her number three! - Which, we are told, makes her and Charles the heterosexual couple with the most children in that beautifully liberal city.
Geraldina just got back from India where she visited the Taj Mahal... See a few pics HERE - Are we "ONE WORLD" or what? (In the last couple of months, Geraldina in India; Carmencita & Julio in Argentina; Qusi in Peru; Tony in Russia; Lino in Mexico... WOW!)
We understand that in the last two months the Fernandez family has had a coupl car accidents - and so have the Vullafanes... NOTHING serious, but boy-o-boy, what a nusance! (And to think that Joseph & Pancho ain't driving yet!)
PICTURE OF THE MONTH:
From Qusi: Having recently spent a couple of weeks in southern Peru for my 50th birthday last month enjoying an incredible experience - I climbed Machu Picchu and floated on the Uros islands on Lake Titicaca, among others - I submit my new found identity as an Inca ñusta to be considered as Rembe's running mate. Since the lake shares a border with Bolivia to the south, you may think my attire evokes a bit of our Aymara friends ruled by Evo Morales. Please do not hold it against me. :)

THE "WEB SITE(s) OF THE MONTH": Thanks to Heribertico from Newark, lest we get too excited too soon about the "new" mafia in Cuba:
Raúl Castro, as longtime member of Cuba’s Council of State, has been signing execution orders for years. But, his killing career began early on. In 1956, while in exile in Mexico, he murdered a former comrade. During the revolutionary struggle in the mountains, he executed deserters and informants. In the early days of the Revolution, while in charge of the Oriente province, he had hundreds of men killed. In one day alone, he ordered at least 72 men executed without trial in the city of Santiago. All throughout the night of January 12, 1959 and into the following day, successive groups of men were lined up in front of ditches at San Juan Hill and shot by firing squads. Raúl is reported to have gleefully delivered the coup d’grace on a few. Afterwards, a bulldozer was brought in to cover the mass graves. Among the victims was policeman Benito Cortés, an American citizen born in Puerto Rico and father of five. In 1966, Raúl had the bodies exhumed, encased in concrete, and dumped into deep waters off the coast of Cuba.
On a similar serious note: From "Tias y Tios" in Miami - "We demand freedom for Dr. Biscet!"

FAMILY TRIVIA QUESTIONS:
QUESTION: What is the relationship of the world's largest chocolate maker to Cuba? AND, what does this have to do with our familia - AND baseball?
PARTING THOUGHT:
Progress usually tends to be measured according to the criteria of science and technology... Even so, this is not the only measure of progress, nor in fact is it the principal one. Much more important is the social and ethical dimension, which deals with human relations and spiritual values. In this area society certainly owes much to the "genius of women".

Have a prosperous TAX day!
