Empezamos con otro chiste otra vez:
Three men, a Colombian, a Mexican and a Cuban went for a Citizenship Interview at the Immigration office in Miami , FL.
Before the interview, they were told that they must compose a sentence in English with three main words: Green, Pink and Yellow.
The Colombian was first: "I wake up in the morning. I see the yellow sun. I see the green grass and I think to myself, I hope it will be a wonderful pink day."
The Mexican was next: " I wake up in the morning. I eat a yellow banana, a green pepper and in the evening I watch the pink panther on TV. "
Last was the Cuban: "Oye Chico, I wake up in the morning. And I hear the phone green. .. green... and I pink up the phone and I Say "Yellow?" "
KEEP THEM COMING, and check old ones at our CHISTES page (see right column for link)
Reemberto turned 50 in July and promptly quit his job to start a Cuban Pupuseria... Not! (hmm... though, it ain't a bad idea when you think about it...)
Geraldina just got back from the land 'down under' (Australia) - and tells us it's sort of like 'Dallas with a twist'... & yep, they do speak English :-)
Rembe Jr., shared this with us - very 'feel good!": It seems the coaches and players of the Nationals want to have mass before the Sunday home games. Well, Rembe Jr., will be doing the readings in Spanish so the Latino players can join in... Pretty kool, we think!
Iggy continues in search of the right college to play baseball... Recently we did a quick trip to visit some Virginia Colleges with one of his friends... see HERE
Check out UPDATES to our new PETS page... HERE - & send us yours!
We hear Julio & Ana Tere just got back from Mexico doing some mission work... We can only imagine all the stories (it was Ana's first)!
The simple joys of living in DC: Iggy got an assignment from his art class to comment on some Monet paintings... &, rather than have to do it from some photograph, it was extremely cool to go down to the Smithonian and see THE real thing :-)
See box at left for links to pics of the new babies in the familia born so far this year INCLUDING 2 IN JULY!!! - and there are more to come - Sotolongo in Miami & Wright in Atlanta (to be named "Lucas")!!!
Congrats to the JULY NEWLYWEDS! - Kool time was had by all - we were so glad to have been able to go!!! --- & surely pics will follow soon... (By the way, it was truly a shame to see how BAD the younger generation plays dominoes... Maybe we can have an on-line dominoes tutorial...)
&, as I am sure many know, Maritza had forgotten "como botar cubos de agua" and broke her ankle trying to "conectar con la gente de la isla"... Hope she gets better!
On a serios note: Autism is in our family... and it's neat to see Starbucks' new awareness campaign HERE
And, talking about causes, the Alvarez family walked in the Southeastern Brain Tumor Research walk... Check it out HERE
