OUR FAMILIA's COAT OF ARMS
Reemberto designed this stained glass pane (measuring approximately 30" x 36") and  commissioned  a local artist to fabricate it. It represents our familia's journey and dreams.
It is a journey that brings together two cultures to form something that is uniquely us.

It is an admiration for the beautiful white sands of Cuba and the colorful mountains of North Georgia; for the Cuban palm trees and the Georgian pine trees; for the tropical mango and the southern magnolia.

It is the same sky that we see from both vantage points, it is one sea we share...  The same sun we see; though we do not know whether it is setting or rising as we still dream of the mockinngbird (zunzun), and remain ready to pick up the hat left behind - and smoke that cigar which seems to be calling us to complete some unfinished business.

There is one more item not in the Coat of Arms but truly representative of our Familia: a 1/2 glass full - certainly never 1/2 empty! - of Rum & Coke, representing yet another wonderful connection of our two culutres: Rum, perfected in Cuba (by the Bacardi family) in the times that the South rebelled (1862); and Coca Cola, that wonderful tonic invented in Atlanta and perfected by a Cuban-American CEO (Roberto Goizueta)... Cuba Libre: Our official Family Drink!... We'll make sure we include that in Version 2 of the stained glass fixture :-)
